A good news indeed. The day before yesterday I read Nagindas Sanghvi’s column (Tad ane Fad)in the Wednesday supplement of Divya Bhaskar where he likened Yeddyurappa’s political career with the the famous maxim: A cat has nine lives. His point was that this Karnataka CM possesses such tremendous power and influence that he will not give in easily and will survive all political problems against him… Thanks to the Lokayukta of Karnataka justice Hegde who submitted his 25,228 pages long report categorically showing Yediurappa, Reddy brothers who are ministers and other 600 officials involved in ill-legal mining in Karnataka, that this time the central leadership of BJP decided to put pressure on Yediurappas to quit..
Why corruption is so rampant? And why govt. is not taking firm action against those involved in such cases? Anna Hazare and others see the answer/solution in Lokpal/Janlokpal. The important point they are raising is: Why govt. takes step against the perpetrators only after the Supreme court interferes? Why govt doesn’t do so on its own? CBI, as it is now, is not independent of Govt. And govt. does put pressure on it as and when need be. Lokpal will be independent. And if ministers don’t come under the purview of Lokpal, the bill would become toothless.
The saddest thing is that ministers themselves are the real culprits and who will raise voice against them? They are doing all this openly and there is none to stop them. They remind us of the sayings: Is Hamam Me Sab Nange Hai!! And Jis Desh ka Raja Vepari, Us Desh Ki Praja Bhikhari...
